"If you are the type who likes your novels complicated and multi-layered then this would be apt for you...the patience will be rewarded."
The Gathering Dark and other tales: A Sage of Wales Collection and other literary works
Volume II is just
as fast paced and action packed as the first!
"The action is often unexpected and enthralling. Holbrook weaves an intense tale of power, secrecy and fate. The world is vivid and entertaining but the characters are the main power here. Each and every one of them from the frail yet powerful Bones to his brilliant brother Ellis and stubborn and stern Ollie are wonderfully created."
Children of Sun - Volume I
"Ollie is a ruthless killer you can’t help but love. While she is a
skilled assassin and knows her way around weapons, part of her power
gives her the ability to make others turn on themselves. R.B. Holbrook builds her characters and their world over the course of
this first book with a sensory overload (in a good way) of non-stop
action."
Shadows of Fate - Volume II
"Holbrook continues to deliver even more non-stop action and further insight into the characters, book one introduced us to. Her books get better with each volume. In fact, when you get to the end
the only negative you can think of is, 'What?!? I have to wait for the
final volume!'...If you love a story that gives you everything, love, romance, murder,
mayhem, corruption, deception,….. then you will be hooked on these
books. If you love comic books, the words in these books will come to
life before your eyes. 4.5 out of 5 energy spikes."
Second in Trilogy Tragic and Thrilling!
"Science Fiction? Yes but once you enter the Structure you will become
spellbound, flinching when beams of energy are used, waiting
breathlessly while buildings crash down, trees are uprooted and thrown
as spears, walls are destroyed and one member of the Structure strikes
down another and another! For imaginative genius, I’ve not read anything like Oracle’s Legacy: Shadows of Fate by R. B. Holbrook!"

Children of Sun - Volume I
"Read it! An A+ rating is rare from me, only 24 of the last 700 books I've read have gotten it."
"The writing style is reminiscent of the Black Dagger Brotherhood
novels. Lots of alpha males, but the bonus in this book is that there
is also a kick-butt heroine in Ollie. In fact, she steals the
show...as a huge fan of Marvel and superheroes, I'm loving these
characters and the cool powers they have."

Shadows of Fate - Volume II
"All the things I loved about the first one were here. The
world building in this story is still incredible...really cool action
scenes..one in particular I would love to see play out on a big screen,
because I can just picture the magnitude and the awesomeness. This is a
new author to keep an eye on, for sure!" [Grade A-]

"These books are mind boggling. The world Ms. Holbrook has created is unique and the powers that reside in the people who populate this world are fascinating."
"I was immediately drawn into Volume I - the characters leapt from the page and grabbed me right from the beginning...Volume II - Oracle's Legacy Shadows of Fate picks up with no break in the story. These books are fast paced, action packed and kept me on the edge of my seat. They are very in-depth and richly detailed."

Children of Sun - Volume I
"It was clear half-way through the book that there was a great chess
game being played and only one quarter of the players knew the rules.
As the book kept going, layers upon layers were being pulled back and
revealed. At the end, I sat there saying, 'Wow.'"

Children of Sun - Volume I
“Things aren’t as they appear in this debut book by R. B. Holbrook, a native of North Carolina. It’s the first in a trilogy that features members of a secret civilization who seem like regular people, except for their superior mental and physical powers. This is their ‘energy’, which they try to keep hidden but which is evident in a tattoo-like seal on their bodies.”
Holbrook has created a memorable character in Ollie. She’s a beautiful, opinionated, foul-mouthed, humorous, family-loving killer whose mother tells her, “You have a mind of your own. You have power—power people fear. Power that can do harm to others if not used appropriately. So you must show restraint.”
Readers will become invested in the characters and will be disappointed that they have to wait for the next volume to continue with their story.”
